On september 6th 2017 Hurricane Irma, one of the largest Category 5 hurricane ever recorded, made a direct hit on the British Virgin Islands with 185 mph (295 km/h) winds. Irma caused catastrophic damages throughout the Caribbean, especially the Leeward Islands.
Damage in the British Virgin Islands was extensive. Many buildings, homes, businesses and roads were destroyed on the island of Tortola and Virgin Gorda. And minor islands has been left in ruins. Four people were also confirmed dead.
Us from Beniki have a special relationship with the British Virgin Islands where we got inspired for our creations and our new collection coming in January 2018.
